Your ideas may have changed since then but it\u2019s good to start really thinking and planning what you want to do when you are in year 8 or 9 (age 12 \u2013 14 years old) or even earlier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Devon County Council we\u2019ve created a <strong>digital vocational profile<\/strong>. A vocational profile is a document to help you plan what work you would like to do in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can help you to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>say what you like and don\u2019t like<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>choose what you want to do<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>share your views<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re very pleased to be able to launch our vocational profile in Devon. It&#8217;s important that young people are given the opportunity to explore what it is they are good at, and how their skills can help them to find a rewarding and enjoyable career.&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>Phill Adams, SEND Improvement Assistant Director<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your vocational profile should be done with help from a trusted adult who can help you to discuss your choices and fill in a form. It might be someone from school or college or a young person\u2019s worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There are three stages to the profile:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Section 1<\/strong> is completed when you are still in school or being home-educated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Section 2<\/strong> is completed when you are 16 years old or over, and looking towards moving into employment.
