By providing a photograph for your pass, and accepting transport assistance from the Local Authority you are agreeing to abide by the code of conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your parents or carers will be told if you do not keep to the code, and you may not be able to use college transport anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On the transport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Treat the driver or train conductor with respect and follow their instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay in your seat and use the seatbelt if there is one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t distract the driver, except in an emergency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have to stand on a public bus don\u2019t stand forward of the driver or in the stairwell.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only use emergency exits if there is a genuine emergency or when told to by the driver.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t eat, drink or smoke on the transport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t drop any litter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t use foul or abusive language or language which could offend others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t carry real or replica weapons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t throw things.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t damage the bus or train. If it is damaged the police will be contacted and you will have to pay for the damage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the bus breaks down or is in an accident, follow the driver\u2019s instructions and stay with the bus until another one arrives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always try to set a good example for younger passengers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you see others behaving inappropriately tell the driver, train conductor or your college.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Keeping safe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Queue sensibly for the bus, or train and stand well away from the edge of the road or platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t push or trip others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t try to open the doors of the bus yourself and be careful opening the train doors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mind the gap between the train and the platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let other passengers get off before you get on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get on and off in a sensible way so you don\u2019t hurt yourself or other people. Don\u2019t try to get back on the bus or train once you have got off.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be careful not to get coats, bags or scarves caught in the doors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need to cross the road once you have left the bus, wait till the bus has driven away so you can see other vehicles and their drivers can see you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t use a mobile phone or earphones while crossing the road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your travel pass<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry your travel pass with you when you travel to and from college.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be ready to show your pass \u2013 if you can\u2019t show it, you will not be allowed to travel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only use your pass to travel on the route it is for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not use anyone else\u2019s pass or let them use yours or it may be confiscated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you lose your pass phone\u00a0<a href=\"tel:03451551019\">0345 155 1019<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your pick-up point<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are responsible for making sure that you get to the pick-up point safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrive at the pick-up point at least five minutes before the bus or train is due. It runs to a timetable and can\u2019t wait if you\u2019re late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re waiting at the pick-up point don\u2019t go onto, or damage, private property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the bus or train is late, only wait at the pick-up point for 20 minutes. Decide in advance what you will do if the transport doesn\u2019t arrive \u2013 this could be going home or going to a friend\u2019s house to arrange another way to get to college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is storm or snow you can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/schools\/\">find school and route closure information<\/a>&nbsp;or listen to the local BBC radio station.
