{"id":20393,"date":"2024-09-10T14:31:20","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T13:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/?page_id=20393"},"modified":"2026-03-30T10:48:50","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T09:48:50","slug":"what-happens-once-your-request-is-made","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/send-local-offer\/education-health-and-care-plans\/what-happens-once-your-request-is-made\/","title":{"rendered":"What happens once your request is made"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We have six weeks from the date we receive your request to consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the information about your child\u2019s strengths and difficulties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the arrangements that have been put in place to help<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the progress your child has made so far<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/education-systems\/parent-carer\/ehc-hub-parents\/support-and-guidance\/how-to-contribute-your-views-to-a-request-for-assessment\/\">Using the EHC Hub<\/a>, you will have the opportunity to provide us with relevant historical information about your child\u2019s:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>special educational needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>health needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The views and opinions of your child can be recorded. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>what is working well for you in your current place of education?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what is not working well for you in your current place of education? What do you think might help?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your own views and opinions can also be recorded. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>what is working well for the child or young person in their current place of education?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what is not working well for your child in their current place of education? What do you think might help?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We must make a decision about whether an EHC needs assessment is necessary.
