You don&#8217;t need a referral from a healthcare professional, parent carers can request help directly. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-5\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/childrenandfamilyhealthdevon.nhs.uk\/health-relating-to-relating-to-learning-disabilities\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Learning Disability health information and resources <\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Children and Family Health Devon provides information and support for children and young people (0\u201318) who have a diagnosis of moderate to profound learning disability across Devon. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-6\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpt.nhs.uk\/service-details\/service\/learning-disability-primary-care-liaison-service-73\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Learning disability service (adults)<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Support for people aged 18+ with a learning disability when they see their GP, use primary care services, or when they have to go to hospital. You can contact this service directly (self-refer), you don&#8217;t need a referral from a healthcare professional. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-7\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/childrenandfamilyhealthdevon.nhs.uk\/our-pathways\/mental-health-support-team\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Mental Health Support Team in Schools<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>The Mental Health Support Team in Schools (MHST) works with a number of schools across Devon. If a child or young person attends (or is on roll at), a school with an MHST Worker, you can contact this service directly (self-refer) &#8211; you don&#8217;t need a referral from a healthcare professional. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-8\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/childrenandfamilyhealthdevon.nhs.uk\/our-pathways\/neurodiversity\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Neurodiversity support<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Children and Family Health Devon (CHFD)&#8217;s neurodiversity pathway helps children and young people in Devon access support for conditions such as autism, ADHD, tics and Tourette&#8217;s syndrome. Parents and carers can request support directly &#8211; a referral is not necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-9\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/childrenandfamilyhealthdevon.nhs.uk\/cfhd-occupational-therapy-telephone-advice-line\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Occupational therapy<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Occupational therapy can help children and young people with physical, sensory, developmental, cognitive and social needs that affect their daily life. A new telephone advice line is now available to young people, parents, education or social care staff, or other professionals.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-10\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/send-local-offer\/understanding-send\/sensory-and-or-physical-needs\/\">Sensory support<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Support for children with sensory needs, including from the ROVIC (Re\/Habilitation Officer for Visually Impaired Children) service. Some services will require a referral, others don&#8217;t. Our step-by-step guides provide more information. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-11\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/send-local-offer\/understanding-send\/communication-and-interaction\/guide\/\">Speech, language and communication support<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>There&#8217;s lots of resources and support available for children and young people from birth to 18 with a range of speech and language difficulties.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"content-image-outer\"><\/div><\/div><\/li><li class=\"cell content-outer col-12\"><div class=\"content-inner  text-dark\"><div class=\"content-details\"><header class=\"content-heading\"><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/send-local-offer\/health\/targeted-health-services\/specialist-dental-services\/\">Specialist dental service<\/a><\/h3><\/header><div class=\"content-intro\"><p>Children and young people with SEND may need to go to a specialist community dental service if they can&#8217;t attend a general dental practice.
