Communities across Devon are often very different and diverse in nature and can <strong>play a vital role<\/strong> in helping to give children and families the support they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our 4 principles are:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children are best brought up in families<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will support families to find their own solutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will listen to each other and work together with services shaped by all<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children and families will always know where they stand with us<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What sort of plan now?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Something to <b>communicate our priorities <\/b>to children and families clearly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That gives a <b>strong identity <\/b>to be proud of<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That <b>challenges<\/b><b> &#8211; <\/b>keeps us on our toes, agile and ready for the future<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That is <b>aspirational and ambitious<\/b><b> and<\/b> talks to the heart and mind<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That is human, with a <b>focus on purpose, impact and outcomes <\/b>for our children and their families<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>That helps to <\/b><b>create the conditions for good practice to flourish, <\/b>both restorative and trauma informed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And is fit for a <b>digital<\/b> <b>world <\/b>&#8211; is adaptable, flexible and connects things up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our priorities:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We have set clear <b>priorities for action <\/b>in each main area of our activity, backed by specific plans and strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/children-and-young-peoples-plan-2019-2023\/life-chances\/\">Life Chances<\/a> &#8211; achieve their potential with the opportunities to thrive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/children-and-young-peoples-plan-2019-2023\/health-and-wellbeing\/\">Be Healthy and well<\/a> &#8211; have the best start in life, stay well and thrive.\u00a0 With good information and specialist help when they need it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/children-and-young-peoples-plan-2019-2023\/keeping-children-safe\/\">Feel safe<\/a> &#8211; be protected from neglect and supported when vulnerable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/children-families-education\/children-and-young-peoples-plan-2019-2023\/protecting-children-from-harm\/\">Be Protected from Harm<\/a> &#8211; swift action to protect them from harm,\u00a0 abuse and exploitation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How we work:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We will always aim to help children and families be more resilient, strengthen relationships and build social connections and are committed to working together to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Listen, hear and understand<\/b><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Get under the surface <\/b>to understand what is driving your problems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help you help yourself through information, advice and <b>support as early as possible<\/b><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support your <b>whole family and build on your strengths <\/b>where needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be <b>flexible, adaptable and personalised<\/b><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Work in ways that are right for you <\/b>with support that is <b>integrated and community-based<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We want to ensure children and families receive the right support, at the right time, and in the right place.
