This link used to go to the author\u2019s website, but the domain is no longer under his control. It has since been taken over by another party and now leads to inappropriate adult content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The publisher, Puffin, has paused sales and distribution of the books and is working with schools, libraries, and retailers to remove copies from circulation. They have stressed that the website has no connection to the author or publisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What this means for you:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your child has any <em>Spy Dog<\/em>, <em>Spy Cat<\/em> or <em>Spy Pups<\/em> books at home, please check the back for website links and make sure they do not try to visit the site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is safe for children to continue reading the stories themselves \u2014 the concern is only with the outdated link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We recommend talking with your child about the importance of not following web addresses in books without checking with an adult first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Super 1s Devon Cricket Foundation&#8217;s FREE programme for 12-25 year olds with SEND<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devoncricket.co.uk\/super1s\" rel=\"noopener\">Super 1s <\/a>is a programme funded by the Lord&#8217;s Taverners in partnership with the Devon Cricket Foundation to establish and sustain opportunities within cricket for people who have a disability. Would they be interested in one to one Arts Therapy sessions in YAHT&#8217;s lovely rooms in Exeter? They have some spaces coming up with one of their qualified and experienced Arts Therapists. No previous arts experience is necessary and they work with young people aged 5 to 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> This is currently for those who are interested in privately paying or can access funding. These&nbsp;times are especially suited to people with autism, anxiety and associated conditions. Apply online <a href=\"http:\/\/exe-coll.ac.uk\" rel=\"noopener\">exe-coll.ac.uk&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">RESEARCH STUDY \u2013 University of Exeter looking for volunteer teenagers with low mood and depression to take part<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Rachel Hayes, Senior Researcher working at the Medical School, University of Exeter in the Medical School is leading the Devon site of the ATTEND research study (<a href=\"https:\/\/attendstudy.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/attendstudy.org\/<\/a>) and looking for volunteers to take part. The study which is being run by the University of Cambridge and Kings College London is part of an investigation into whether an adapted form of mindfulness could be helpful for teenagers who are experiencing low mood or depression. Criteria as below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>15\u201318 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>symptoms of depression or low mood<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>previously received treatment for depression, low mood or anxiety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>able to engage in group-based mindfulness therapy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Young people will be randomised to either take part in the new mindfulness treatment in addition to their existing treatment options, or to continue with their existing treatment options only. The study also has the option to involve parents or carers with a parallel mindfulness group that they can attend. The next one is on Tuesday 14 October 2025; they will be running enclosure meetings and workshops specifically for any home educators in attendance. They are individually ticketed, allowing you to book just the number of places you require.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum number of children that will be present in one session is 20, with a minimum of 12 children needed in total from all families booking to run the session. At least one parent\/carer, who is prepared to participate, should accompany each family group, and remain with the children throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are five activities\/tours to undertake during each museum-led visit and they will allocate you into smaller groups 6 to 8 to participate for up to 25 minutes in each activity\/tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrival will be from 10:00 (10:15 on Tuesdays) with activities starting at 10:30 and finishing at 14:00 and will include a private room for the whole group to share. Lunch will be 12:00 to 12:45. It is recommended that you bring a packed lunch and any other snacks that are required. It will run every Sunday from 21st September 9-10:30am. Buckfastleigh Swimming Pool will share water temperatures each week but would expect it to be around 20\u00b0 in the first week. Buckfastleigh Swimming Pool offer a session specifically for home educated young people to take the stress out of it.
