Phase Associations within the Local, Regional and National Context
Local context
It is a statutory duty for the local authority to consult with schools via the Devon Education Forum (DEF) on the local finding formula and distribution of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG).

Phase Associations (including Primary and Secondary, Governors and Special Schools) represent, consult and communicate with schools, as well as the Devon Education Forum (DEF) and other statutory boards or local authority groups.
National context
National Phase Associations consult with local Phase Associations (including Primary and Secondary, Governors and Special Schools) on policy issues, to influence national policy issues.
The Department for Education Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West determines national policy issues and ensures Devon County Council implements the policy.
