Devon is committed to supporting families at the earliest possible stage and through our early help offer, we will ensure that wherever possible services are provided to children, young people and families in their the local community and through existing networks that allow families to become resilient and lead as normal life as possible.
For the majority of children, this will mean they will be educated in their local mainstream setting, have access to local health services and a range of leisure facilities which allow them to live their lives alongside their peers and achieve the best possible outcomes. We want all children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to be clear about their personal progression and the support available to them, to help them achieve over the course of their lives as they become adults.
You can find out more about SEND educational support on our SEND Local Offer web pages.
