If the tool suggests you may need further support, you can complete an online self\u2011assessment to outline your needs, how they affect your wellbeing, and the outcomes you want to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on this, we will contact you to explain the next steps and, where needs are more complex, carry out a full care and support needs assessment. The full assessment focuses on your wellbeing, goals, and support network, and may involve joint work with other organisations such as the NHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/adult-social-care\/assessments\/care-support-needs-assessments\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"28887\">Find out more and complete our self-help tool<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can request an assessment by contacting Care Direct on <a href=\"tel:03451551007\">0345 155 1007<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial assessment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If we carry out a Care Act assessment, you\u2019ll also have a financial assessment. This looks at your income and savings to work out how much you may need to pay towards your care. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/adult-social-care\/factsheet\/paying-for-residential-and-nursing-care\/financial-assessment-information-needed-for-residential-or-nursing-care\/\">Find out more about financial assessments<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Arranging your care directly: Self\u2011funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people have to pay the full cost of care &#8211; this is called self\u2011funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will look at your savings to decide if you must pay for your own care. If you are a self funder, you usually arrange your care home place yourself and choose any home that meets your needs and fits your budget. There are a few exceptions, such as when you temporarily cannot access your money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can be a self-funder even if your savings are below the threshold.
