Please could you provide statistics about the number of people who have attempted, successfully or unsuccessfully, to make a claim to yourselves for vehicle damage or personal injury caused by a pothole in 2018 and so far in 2019.
From 1st January 2018 to 21st October 2019, the Insurance Section received 1,277 claims relating to damage or injury caused by potholes.
If possible, I would also like to know the amount of the compensation awarded by the Council for these aforementioned dates.
Over the same time period, we can confirm that £38,866 has been paid out in respect of personal injury claims and £75,131 in respect of property damage.
