Domestic abuse services funding

We have an information request -see below –

(i) The total amount of funding your council provided for all domestic abuse services in the financial year 2009/10.

£383,835 (We should clarify that this is the gross spend so it includes a few contributions from District Councils and the Safer Devon Partnership but excludes staff time)

(ii) The total amount of funding your council provided for specialised domestic violence services for black and minority ethnic (BAME) victims of domestic abuse in the financial year 2009/10.

Devon County Council do not hold this information.

(iii) The total amount of funding your council provided for all domestic abuse services in the most recent financial year for which full data are available (ideally 2017/18, but, failing that, 2016/17).

We should clarify that the figures are not directly comparable with 2009/10 as the contract now has a wider scope.

In 2017/18 £1,024,460 (again, this is gross spend so it includes a few contributions from District Councils and the Safer Devon Partnership but excludes staff time)

(iv) The total amount of funding your council provided for specialised domestic violence services for black and minority ethnic (BAME) victims of domestic abuse in the most recent financial year for which full data are available (ideally 2017/18, but, failing that, 2016/17).

Devon County Council do not commission any specific domestic violence services for Black Minority and Ethnic communities so we therefore do not hold the information you have requested.

However, our commissioned services are required to reach victims and tailor their services appropriate to need. Additionally, we spend money on the Safeguarding team which although not specialising in domestic abuse, does work on prevention of all types of issues.
