The number of Former Relevant is for the total number of Care Leavers who are “Former Relevant” aged 18-21 inclusive that are entitled to a service from Devon County Council. This does not indicate how many were receiving a service or who are still within Devon area. Figures published in Children Looked After Returns to Department for Education in 2013-14 and 2014-15 only covered those children turning 19-21 years of age but, since 2015-16, it has been Former Relevant children turning 18-21 AND Relevant children turning 17 (if they had left care by their 17th birthday).
For questions 3 a and 3 b the data should relate to the status of the individual at the time of the incident and not their current status
3a. for each of the above, the total number of individuals who committed a deliberate act of self harm, including attempted suicide
3. b. For each of the above, the total number who committed suicide
To answer these two questions would require a review of each of the cases identified above, a total over 2700 unique cases (note that some children are LAC and Former Relevant in subsequent years). At approximately ten minutes for each case the total time required would be 452 hours, well in excess of the 18 hours allowed under the Freedom of information Act 2000 Section 12 -Cost of Compliance.
