Thornpark Rise TRO2035813 – reasons and decisions

Why was the modal filter at Thornpark Rise not fitted? Who authorised for it not to be fitted, it was due to go ahead and signs went up but it wasn’t fitted for no apparent reason.

Thornpark Rise was one of a number of possible measures in Heavitree area we were considering as part of the Emergency Active Travel Fund tranche 1. However, once the available budget was confirmed by Department for Transport (and less than expected) and we had more clarity on costs (higher than expected) we had to rationalise the measures. As Thornpark Rise was not on the E3 route, it was therefore not progressed.

Going forward, theĀ Exeter Streets Consultation undertaken in Heavitree through November/December 2020 sought views from residents of what changes they would like to see.

The results of this have now been shared and further consultation on residents on possible options will take place this Summer. This may include changes to Thornpark Rise
