“I am led to believe that there have previously been periodic speed surveys along New Road, Teignmouth with the last one being November 2018.

I would like to request access to the results of past and current speed reviews and also information about where along New Road the speed surveys were placed.”

*The 85th percentile speed is a widely used traffic statistical metric which provides an accurate estimation of the speed at which most vehicles are travelling at the survey location. It can be defined as, “the speed at or below which 85 percent of all vehicles are observed to travel under free-flowing conditions past a monitored point”. It is used by traffic engineers for a number of reasons, including the setting of speed limits.
