Section 106 Highways funding – Old Torrington Road, Barnstaple

The current status of Section 106 Highways funding in respect of new developments along Old Torrington Road, Barnstaple.  

I have identified the planning application numbers and reviewed the signed s106 agreements and the amounts conditioned below; I would be grateful if you could confirm the amounts actually received by DCC to date and detail what if any amounts have been expended to date and budget plans for unspent / to be received amounts:-

£66,260.60 for Highway corridor contribution received.  

Please can you also confirm the estimated costs of providing the additional pedestrian pavement required to allow safe passage of pedestrians from the new developments along Old Torrington Road to the established pavement network. 

No contributions have been utilised to date although there is an intention shortly to progress a design, and implementation, of a footway/cycleway scheme from the new development at the termination of “Old Torrington Road” to “Gratton Way” along the western boundary. 

The estimated cost, with contingencies and additional street lighting, for a 2.5 metre footway/cycleway is £104,500.00. 

The estimated cost, with contingencies and additional street lighting, for a 3.0 metre footway/cycleway is £110,000.00.
