This information is publicly available on the Education and Families website – see School designated (catchment) areas
Provide a list of all local schools within the local authority with Catchment Information.
Provide this information digitally possible in CSV file which would contain the following information :
School URN
School Name
Catchment Area – Radius – If Applicable.
Catchment Area – Map Plot points using polygon data points.
Catchment data map points using any other plotting format that can be consumed my Google Maps API.
Additionally could provide in CSV format Admission Offers by caption radius (if you prioritise offers by distance from school)
Admissions priority across the majority but not all schools includes catchment and, as a tiebreaker, distance from home to school. Distances from school are not routinely calculated and do not influence the decision in most cases.
The responsibility for the catchment areas of academy, foundation, voluntary aided and free schools lies with their respective admission authorities and not with the Local Authority. Devon collates the maps and publishes a map service for parents and other interested parties to view catchment areas and school locations.
The information required is available at https://data-dcc.opendata.arcgis.com/. A viewer searching “schools” will have access to it under an open licence Open Government Licence (nationalarchives.gov.uk)
