Pothole Reporting Process

It is our understanding that the authority no longer accepts reports of potholes and road defects via email, and instead only accepts reports via an online system. If this is incorrect, please let us know which email address reports of potholes should be directed to.

Issues such as potholes, flooding, overgrown vegetation and so on can all be reported to Devon County Council via email, however the Council also has a specific online reporting site  which has a specific section for potholes and many other issues.

Once you’ve reported a problem on the site, it will allocate you an ENQ reference number for each log you make. You can use that number to check progress here, so you can easily stay informed.

There is no specific email address for the reporting of potholes, however most reports of potholes which are received via email are sent to csc.roads@devon.gov.uk

Otherwise, if you could please answer the following questions, that would be most appreciated:

1. On which date did the local authority stop accepting reports of potholes and road defects from the public via email (i.e. by only accepting reports via an online reporting system)?

Please see our response above.

2. How many reports of potholes/road defects did the council receive during each of the past 60 months (5 years) for which data is available? Please provide the figures on a month-by-month basis.

The figures can be found on this spreadsheet.
