Pensions – annual allowances

I’d be grateful if you could confirm the number of Personal Savings Statements (AA Statements) issued to members of your scheme in the 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 tax years. If you administer multiple local government pension schemes for different local authorities, I’d be grateful if you could disclose this data for all of the authorities you administer.

I would also like to request the number of scheme pay elections received for members of the scheme in those same tax years.

We can confirm that we did receive elections from pension scheme members for the tax years requested but the numbers for each year and for each authority were low.   As this is a very specific tax election and may be part of a wider financial arrangement by any of the scheme members referred to, a disclosure of the numbers may risk identifying the individuals concerned and their personal data concerning their financial affairs.  This would be unfair to the individuals concerned and a breach of the first data protection principle and the information is therefore exempt from disclosure pursuant to s.40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Lastly I’d be grateful if you could provide the number of LTA charges paid by the scheme in each of those tax years for members retiring.

Nil for every year from both authorities.
