Graffiti cleaning 2016 – 2017

I request to know how much money in Great British Pounds (£) your council has spent on cleaning graffiti during the duration of 30th June 2016 to 1st July 2017?
I am happy to receive this data in numerical form. For example:
‘This UK council has spent £1,000 on cleaning graffiti in the time period 30th June 2016 to 1st July 2017’

NB: by Graffiti, I mean writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or painted illicitly on a wall or other surface within public view.

Devon County Council have interpreted your request to refer to graffiti on buildings which are owned and maintained by Devon County Council or highways which are maintained by Devon County Council as the highway authority.

In relation to buildings owned and maintained by Devon County Council, Devon County Council does not hold any specific data on spending on cleaning of graffiti on corporate buildings. Graffiti removal is a delegated matter so there is no central record. We do not have a retained contractor to remove graffiti nor do we have a separate finance item code to capture this information.

In relation to highways, the only available information related to the sum spent on removing grafitti from bridges, which totalled £5,364.

Devon County Council does not hold any further information relating to the removal of graffiti from highways.
