Dublin III children

We would be grateful if you could now provide the following information:

1. In your initial response to us you stated that:

‘Devon County Council currently have 39 children – 24 as child in care and 15 care leavers.’

At question one of our FOIA request we asked for how many children your authority has received under the Dublin III Regulation. Please can you confirm that your response to question one, as set out above, referred specifically to Dublin III children.

The Council had 6 children under the Dublin III Regulation

2. In response to the remainder of the questions we asked, you stated that you do have figures for:

‘the number of children taken in and then transferred onto the DUBS amendment when it transpired that they did not have family able to look after them in the UK, however we consider that to disclose that information would potentially identify individuals’

To be clear, we are interested specifically in how many children have remained with the relative or family member that they have joined, and how many joined relatives or family members but are no longer living with those relatives or family members. This is a separate question to those who were transferred but never had any relatives or family members to live with.

Please could you therefore now confirm the numbers of children who:
a. Remain with the family members or relative they were transferred to join;
b. Did live with the family member or relative they were transferred to join but no longer do.

Devon County Council does hold this information but as disclosure may identify individuals we are withholding the information under Section 40 0f the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Section 40(2) Personal Data.

3. In relation to those children identified at 2(b) above, please confirm

a. How many had received financial support from your authority prior to them ceasing to live with the relative or family member;
b. How many had received any other support from your authority prior to them ceasing to live with the relative or family member.

Devon County Council does hold this information but as disclosure may identify individuals we are withholding the information under Section 40 0f the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Section 40(2) Personal Data.
