Data Protection Impact Assessments

Please provide an electronic copy of any Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s) undertaken for the operation drones, dash cams, or body-worn cameras within your Organisation

Devon County Council (DCC) has not completed any DPIA’s for the operation of drones or dash cams.  However, we have completed a DPIA for the use of body worn cameras within our parking enforcement service.

You may notice within the DPIA, that individual staff names have not been released, aside from Martin Lawrence who is DCC’s named Data Protection Officer.  We consider this information is exempt under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act (Personal Data).

Devon County Council recognises that there is a public interest in openness and transparency. however, we are not obliged to provide information that is the personal information of another person if releasing would contravene any of the provisions in the Data Protection Act 2018.

In this instance we believe that the release of this information would contravene the first data protection principle and therefore section 40(2) is applied.
