Children taken into care – parents and carers at risk of physical violence

In the 2018 calendar year how many children were taken into care where there was a recorded concern that the parents/carers were at risk of physical violence from the child? Please state the ages and sexes of any children involved.

Concerns that parents or carers are at risk of physical violence from a child in their care are not recorded as an identifiable reason for taking a child into the care of the local authority. We may hold information in case reporting but to identify, locate and collate the information requested would require a manual examination of the relevant case records, each one taking several hours, making the total time needed well in excess of the 18 hours allowed under the Freedom of information Act 2000 Section 12 – Cost of Compliance, therefore this information is exempt.
