I would like to request information on the history of any road widening over the years, even widening for the addition of drainage on the A377. Specifically between the Devonshire dumpling public house and the junction going towards Winkleigh on the B3220.
I would like to know when it was widened, why and by how much.
We can confirm that the A377 has remained in its current configuration since the 1950s.
Further to this, a map is available showing land which was purchased in 1967 for the purposes of a road improvement scheme. We can confirm that the strip of pink land between the green land labelled DN308300 and the road is owned by Devon County Council and is adopted as highway maintainable at public expense.
