Community Transport is the provision of non-profit making transport for the many people who may live miles from the nearest bus route or are unable to afford taxi fares or are physically unable to use the public transport services provided.

Community Transport tackles this problem by involving local people in the identification of transport needs within their community, and devising solutions. Devon County Council actively promotes this process by forming partnerships to help organise, develop and run these alternative transport schemes to best serve the community.
