More Choice and Control:

This is about speaking up, person centred planning, direct payments, your rights, and including you in all the decisions that effect your life

Fulfilling Lives:

This is about day centres getting better, and making sure that there are other things to do during the day like go to college, sports and meeting with friends. It is about making sure that you can choose what you want to do during the day. It is also about transport. It is about making plans to help you if you have children and. Benefits like DLA, Income Support and Jobseekers Allowance are important here as well.
Good Health

This is about making sure that you get good health care, not worse than other people, making sure that staff in hospitals and at the doctors are trained to know what you need, and making special services for you if you need them.

Housing

This is about making sure that there are lots of different places to live like residential homes and supported living, so that you can choose where you want to live. It is also about giving you help and advice about choosing where to live.

Moving Into Employment

This is about helping you to get a job or a work placement or voluntary work if you want to do this. It is also about helping the job centre get better at working helping you. We also want to make sure that Devon County Council and the Health Service give more jobs to people with learning disabilities.

Partnership Working

This is about the Puddle Board and JIP groups getting better and doing their jobs properly with all of the right people there. It is also about Health and Social Services sharing their money and working together.

Quality

This is about making sure that you are happy with the services that you get. It is also about making sure that there are good services for people from other backgrounds. Helping you if something bad happens is also important here.

Supporting Carers

This is about making sure that carers get what they need, finding out about carers who are getting old and carers from other backgrounds and making sure that carers are involved in planning and making decisions.

("Carers" means people like your mum and dad, not paid staff)

Transition

This is about what happens when you leave school and become an adult

Workforce and Planning

This is about training staff to make sure that they get better at working with you. It is important that health and social services staff have training like NVQ and LDAF. We want to make sure that other people have good training as well, not just people from health and social services.
