Holidays for Disabled People

A number of organisations help identify or run accommodation and offer travel advice which is suitable for people with a disability.  A list of some of these is below.

    Holidays, hotels and airlines all with helpful disability information and ratings where appropriate.

  • Bespoke France- An independent, family run business specialising in disabled holiday accommodation from wheelchair accessible holidays and holidays for the less mobile to holidays for people with learning disabilities and autism.

  • Carers UK - Information about breaks and contact details for holiday accommodation, etc.

  • Can be Done
    Offers a wide range of holidays, but specialises in original and pioneering wheelchair accessible holidays.

  • Contact a Family
    This is a factsheet about holidays - funding, accommodation, equipment and travel insurance.

  • Disabled Holiday Directory
    Accessible holiday accommodation in UK, Ireland and America.  Also help with practical matters such as oxygen and dialysis.

  • DISC Plus
    The holiday section offers holiday providers and information for disabled adults and children.

  • Enable Holidays
    Offers a carefully selected, personally audited range of overseas holidays for disabled people, their families and friends.

  • Foxes Academy Hotel, Minehead
    Tel: 01643 704450
    This is a training hotel for young people with mild learning difficulties. It offers special occasions, short breaks, weekends as well as the usual weekly or fortnightly breaks. Foxes Hotel does not provide any personal care but is happy to provide a list of local care agencies.

  • Holiday Care
    Travel and holiday information for people with sensory and learning disabilities, older people, carers, one-parent families and those on low income.

  • National Trust
    Produces a booklet "Information for Visitors with Disabilities" available to download here or by post
