Carers in Devon
Local Support
There are three main ways carer support is organised in Devon:
- Devon Carers Link Network
- Service specific carers workers
- Carer Support Groups
- Carers in Devon Development Group
- Support services in other parts of Devon
Devon Carers Link Network
The Devon Carers Link network is a group of voluntary organisations working together with Social Services and Health to identify carers in Devon. You can join the Devon Carers Link Network as a way of being kept in touch with services, support and making sure you receive up-to-date information, newsletters and have your views heard on service development and reviews.
Service Specific Carers Workers
Many service areas, such as Learning Disability, Mental Health or Children with a disability, have carer support / development workers specifically for that area of work.
Carer Support Groups
Many support groups for carers are available in Devon. Some are for all carers, some are specifically for carers of a particular group, i.e. for parent carers. The groups vary with some primarily offering support, with others more focused on issues of service development, review and consultation.
Consultation meetings and events take place locally and at a county level.
