School & College Transport
Every day the County Council provides transport between home and school for 22000 pupils aged between 4 and 19 years of age. This represents about one quarter of Devon’s school population. Most of the 22000 pupils are provided with free transport, though post 16 students and pupils attending some faith schools are expected to pay a contribution of £270 per year for transport. There is a scheme to waive these charges for pupils from low-income families.
