Work Experience

Devon County Council recognises that work experience is an essential way for people to develop their skills and improve their employability for their present/future career.

Devon County Council offers unpaid work experience placements across each of the Service Area's: Adult and Community Services, Children and Young People's Services, Corporate Resources, Environment, Economy and Culture and Office of the Chief Executive.

If you are interested in a temporary work experience placement, please complete the Work Experience Request Form and return to Recruitment Services (contact details below).

When completing the form please be realistic with your expectations. There may be some departments that are unable to offer a placement.

Due to the large number of requests we are only able to accommodate placements for up to 10 days.

Your work experience request will be sent to the work experience service representative for the service area you are interested in and they will then contact the relevant departments. You will hear direct from the service area as to whether they are able to offer you a placement.

If your placement is accepted, the manager will co-ordinate a work experience programme for you and will confirm location and time for your placement.
