Consultations with Devon County Council as Strategic Planning Authority

Under the provisions of Schedule 1 of the Town and Country Planning Act (General Development Procedures) Order, 1995, district planning authorities are required to consult with the County Council as Strategic Planning Authority on all planning applications which:

  • Conflict with policies contained within the Development Plan
  • By reason of their scale, nature or location, are of major importance for the implementation of the approved Structure Plan
  • Would prejudice the use of land “safeguarded” as having minerals or waste disposal potential
