Recycling Centres

Pinbrook Road, Exeter (Proposed)

A Second Recycling Centre for Exeter

Devon County Council is proposing to develop a new state-of-the-art recycling centre at Pinbrook Road (off Exhibition Way), Exeter.

The Recycling Centre would handle bulky household waste and garden waste taken to the site by local residents.

The centre, which will serve householders in the north and east of Exeter, would complement the existing recycling centre at Exton Road, Marsh Barton. The new site would save residents in the north and east of Exeter having to make trips across the city to the existing Marsh Barton site, and help to reduce congestion.

The proposed site would recycle about 75% of the waste taken there and have dedicated facilities for local residents to recycle glass (bottles and window glass), paper, cardboard, cans, textiles, metals, wood, garden waste, plastics, engine oil, cooking oil, batteries, tyres, fridges, televisions, fluorescent tubes, domestic electrical appliances, bric-a-brac and soil/rubble.

Facilities would also be available for the safe disposal of household chemicals and non-recyclable waste. The site would also feature a large, dedicated sales area where salvaged items could be purchased.
