The 'Country Mile Project', a pilot scheme by Devon County Council to improve road safety for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, will be discussed with members of the Devon Countryside Access Forum at its meeting next week.
A presentation will be given by Simon Chapman who is Project Manager of the pilot scheme which has been introduced in the Tiverton/Crediton/ Barnstaple area. In addition to reducing road casualties, the aim of the project is to improve safety for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Other items on the agenda for the meeting to be held at County Hall
on Wednesday, 15 October at 10am include updates on the Local Transport Plan and Public Rights of Way Action Programme and discussion on draft management plans for Devon's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
