Sustainable Tourism
We act as one of the main funders for Destination Devon, a public/private partnership which manages tourism in Devon.
The aim of Destination Devon is to achieve a thriving, profitable year-round tourism industry which brings benefits to our communities, cares for our world-class environment and competes on the world-stage as a quality visitor destination.
Destination Devon acts as the voice of tourism for Devon and seeks to add value and enhance the work and activities undertaken by Area Tourism Partnerships across Devon. Its board of directors (which includes members from Devon County Council) is committed to growing the tourism sector sustainably, increasing the skills within our industry and raising the quality of our visitor experience.

Sustainable Tourism
Tourism should maximise the economic benefits for Devon, support local communities and ensure that the natural, historic and cultural environment is enhanced and protected.
Devon County Council is coordinating sustainable tourism activities for Destination Devon.
A Destination Devon Sustainability Plan has been drafted and is currently open for consultation.
