Lyn & Exmoor Museum

Visit the Lyn and Exmoor Museum and get an insight of Lynton, Lynmouth and Exmoor since the stone age! This fabulous is housed at St Vincent cottage, and 18th century cottage which boasts an excellent collection of Exmoor related exhibitions. Displays include unique photographs, a model of the Lynton to Barnstaple railway. Lynmouth's flood disaster of 1952, a delightful fully-furnished Victorian doll's house and other exhibits covering maritime, tool, art, archaeological and even the creation of a Victorian Exmoor kitchen. You can also view fine paintings, engravings and photographs illustrating life in the area over a period of 200 years.

A visit to this beautiful old stone cottage with its attractive garden is an educational must!

Location:

From the centre of Lynton, follow Lee Road (the main street) past the church to Bottom Meadow car park at the top of Lynmouth Hill. The museum is opposite the village school, which is adjacent to the car park.
