It was good to see so many prescribers at the Innovations event in Exeter last week.
There was a lot of interest in the new products, particularly the BES Universal Strap; soft, comfortable and versatile for extra security and confidence in shower, bath, car or around the house from www.besbiz.eu.com
The 'Doormatic' powered door opener from Drive medical was also of interest www.drivemedical.co.uk
Toby Churchill's "eye gaze" technology was amazing to see in action, to control the environment, the wheelchair and all computer functions www.toby-churchill.com .
The newest version of the Mealmate from RBF is as versatile as the Neater Eater but portable too, www.rbfhealthcare.co.uk
It was useful to try out the Pura and Edero arm supports and feel just how much function could be regained when the weight of the arm is taken on these multi articulating supports.
The Joy Bar and Rejoy from innovative Gerald Simonds showed how easily a powered chair can be converted to a 'scooter' style operation
Their 'Stimulate' cushion range has proved to improve comfort while keeping cool.
The Apollo range of support cushions and joystick controlled hoist proved to be popular.
For those of you who missed the Accora 'low ' bed, with its impressive 6" lowest setting (including mattress!) it is now at ILC for a few weeks, pop in on a Wednesday morning to have a look or give us a call to book in at other times during the week.
Posturite, Possum and Frequency precision and Call24 demonstrated their latest technology and Total Hygiene showed the Closomat range including the new Lima Lift, a height adjustable toilet bidet.
NRS have kindly left us with the 'Lift walker' to assist with sit to stand and independent walking,
as well as the new version of caring cutlery and the 'Soft grip keep Warm Thermo plates'
Let us know if you have seen any new products that you would like to see in Devon.
For future events see our training calendar on www.devon.gov.uk/ilc and call us on 01392 380181 if you would like an equipment update for you team
