Arts

The arts and culture flourish in Devon, not only enriching the lives of its citizens, but also making a major contribution to the local economy. We recognise the value of the arts and culture to the people of Devon and through many of our services working with children and adults we aim to foster an appreciation for, and to encourage participation in, artistic and creative activity. We must continue to promote excellence in the arts and at the same time encourage more people to enjoy the benefits of artistic endeavour and appreciation.

The Council is preparing to introduce new commissions for 3-year programmes of performances and participatory projects across the county from April 2013. You can find out more about this at Commissions for arts activity.

If you would like to find out information on your nearest arts centre, its location and events, then details are available from your local district/borough council.

You can access all district/borough council services through DevOnline
