Apprenticeships offer people the chance of paid employment linked with the opportunity to train for a career. They are a bridge between the world of education and the world of work and provide the opportunity to train while in a job. As a Council, we want to develop potential future talent for Devon and to support people into a challenging and rewarding career with us.
Our Apprenticeship scheme was introduced in 2006 and since then we have continued to recruit each year, giving local school and college leavers an excellent opportunity to come and work for the County Council whilst, at the same time, gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
We currently have apprenticeship programmes in the following areas:
- Business and Administration, Customer Service and ICT
- Civil Engineering
- Health and Social Care
- Higher Level Apprenticeship – Business and Administration
- Higher Level Apprenticeship – Civil Engineering
- ICT Technician
