Taking a Break
There are many activities that exist which a cared-for person could attend which would offer the carer a break. These include everyday activities such as art classes, cards or chess groups and many more. Others, such as luncheon clubs, are often able to offer support to more dependent people who may not be able to attend everyday activities.
A list of local clubs, associations and luncheon clubs can be found at Help-4u for opportunities in your area. Below is an explanation of the types of short-term breaks for more dependent people of which many are organised and funded by Social Services. Also included is information about breaks for carers in their own right.
