ScoMIS Services to Schools
Antivirus
Scomis negotiate the bulk purchase of antivirus software licences, enabling favourable discounts to be passed on to schools. This provides schools with a world leading product suite, affording an effective level of protection against viruses and other threats. These McAfee antivirus licences must be renewed every financial year. This also applies to licences purchased with a new PC, as the licence will expire at the end of the financial year in which it was purchased. Sufficient licences are required for each device within the school; curriculum, administration, desktops, laptops and servers. Scomis recommend that you keep an inventory of all equipment to ensure that you hold the correct number of licences that are required. The licences allow use of the entire 'McAfee Total Protection for Endpoint' product suite, however, support by Scomis is only provided for the following:

Please note that schools are required to purchase Scomis' "Whole School ICT Support Service" or "Administration ICT Support Service" to enable support for this software.
Many other utilities are available in the product suite, a few being detailed below. Please note that these utilities are not supported by Scomis:

- Host Intrusion Prevention v8.0 (Desktop/Server)
- VirusScan Command Line Scanners
- ePolicy Orchestrator v4.6.2 Server - Single centralized management console (Server)
- McAfee Agent 4.6.0
- GroupShield 7.0.1 for Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 (Server)
- GroupShield 7.0.2 for Microsoft Exchange 2010 (Server)
- Installation Designer v8.8
Current costs available to schools are as follows:
McAfee Enterprise school client annual licence - £2.60 (per workstation/server)
This licence covers the exisiting use of the software currently installed on school admin and curriculum workstations, laptops and servers. New devices will need extra licences purchasing.

2012-13: Antivirus licence request form (These licences are valid from 1st April 2012 and expire on 31st March 2013)
On completing the form, your school will be emailed an order acknowledgement. It will also include details of your entitlement to software licences and should be printed and kept somewhere safe for your own records and for audit purposes. A separate invoice will follow.
