RE4D - Renewable Energy for Devon - is the latest project to be launched by Devon County Council in its drive to persuade people, businesses and communities in Devon to adopt a more environmentally friendly approach and reduce their impact on climate change.
Renewable energy is energy obtained from sources that are essentially inexhaustible, unlike, for example, the fossil fuels, of which there is a finite supply. Renewable sources of energy include wood, waste, geothermal, wind, photovoltaic, and solar thermal energy.
The £1.1m project will provide free, impartial advice to anyone interested in renewable energy, with additional grants, feasibility studies and assistance available to SMEs and community organisations across most of Devon.
RE4D expert advisors support businesses, community organisations, schools, households and the public sector. For more information go to www.re4d.org
