The Arundel Society Portfolio

The Arundel Society PortfolioThe Arundel Society Portfolio

Founded in London in 1849 and named after the Earl of Arundel, the society promoted knowledge of the art works of the old Italian, Flemish and other European Masters. Some important early members were John Ruskin, Henry Layard and Charles Thomas Newton.

This huge leather portfolio holds 43 beautiful prints, drawings and engravings, all of which require some repair to bring them back their former glory. The portfolio itself is breaking up, needing repairs and reinforcement if it is to remain one of the most impressive items in Exeter Library’s Special Collections Archive.

Funding required for restoration: £675.00
