Public Access

Internet access is rapidly spreading across Devon, being available at libraries, local schools, community centres and mobile zones. These offer you new and great opportunities to tap the potential of the Internet.

Some people have a computer at home but not everyone. However, there are places that you can visit and use the computer there for internet access. Your local library is one such place. Increasingly some schools are making these facilities available out-of-school hours for members of the community.

How can I get online?

The Devon In Touch Roadshow is a mobile facility which any rural community group of 12 or more adults can invite to their village. It is equipped with 6 computers offering broadband internet access. There is no charge and help is given individually. For more information please visit the Devon In Touch Roadshow.

A network of more than 300 computers is now available in libraries across Devon for members of the public to use for free. Visitors to any of Devon's 56 libraries can now use state of the art computers to surf the Internet, send e-mails or take advantage of a variety of software for up to half an hour each day. To stay online for longer costs just £1.50 per half-hour.
