How the consultation process works

For each planning application where the County Council is the determining authority, we always:

We normally ask for their responses within 21 days to enable us to deal with the application promptly, but this period may be extended depending upon the complexity of the application or at the specific request of one of the consultees (e.g. some Parish Councils meet less than once a month).

If new information comes to light as a result of consultation responses and these lead to a need to ask for changes to the proposal, or if we receive amended plans, it may be necessary to consult further and this process could take a further 14 days.

Planning applications can be viewed at Devon County Council, Development Management, Lucombe House, County Hall, Exeter, EX2 4QW from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, or at the relevant District Council Offices during their opening hours.
