Just like you, we’re proud of our Devon; it’s a great county with great people and a glorious place to live.
But there are problems too, such as low incomes, a lack of affordable homes and increasing traffic congestion in our towns.
We all want to look after our Devon, protect what makes it special for our children and grand-children, and ensure they can enjoy life in Devon when they grow up.
To do that we need to plan ahead, get our priorities right for the future and you can help by having your say on what matters most for our county.
That’s why we’ve launched OurDevon, our biggest public consultation campaign ever. Throughout October we’d like hear your top priorities for Devon. They may be the environment, education, jobs, affordable housing, social care, sport and the arts, or maybe you have other ideas.
Due to public interest the deadline for the consultation was extended to Monday November 14th 2005- This has now closed
What will we do with your responses?
![]() | Your views will help shape our new Strategic Plan – this is our most important plan which sets out the County Council’s future priorities and targets for Devon. No decisions on the content of the new Plan will be taken until County Councillors have seen your views first. We will publish the overall results of the OurDevon campaign here online, in libraries and in the Press so that you can see how people have responded. When the new Strategic Plan is completed we will also announce it in the Press, publish it here online and make summaries freely available through local libraries. Will your views make a difference?
Yes, definitely. Just two examples of how your views have influenced what we do are:
