Online Reference

You can now get free access to a range of online reference sources to which the library subscribes.

Most of the services listed below are available from any public library in Devon. If you are registered member of the library service you can also get free access to some of the services from home.

If you have not used a service before, choose the find out more link for details of where and how you can get access. Library members can also find links to the services available from their home computers by logging into their personal account page on the library catalogue.

    Over 1.5 million academic articles are available, free of charge, in all of Devon Libraries

    Discover a world of published academic research at your local library.  Subjects include art, architecture, business, engineering, history, languages, politics, philosophy, mathematics and the sciences.

    All Library users can now access many of the world’s best academic papers through their local libraries, a result of a unique collaboration between librarians and publishers, who have made their journal content available for free.

    Thousands of sources of information of interest to family history researchers, including every UK census from 1841 to 1901. Available from any Devon County Council public library.
