Sidmouth is one of the prettiest towns upon the coast of Devon, and has risen into notice with proportionate rapidity; nor is this to be wondered at, when its lovely situation is considered, where the charms of nature are spread forth in placid and verdant scenery, or are displayed in towering gigantic cloud cliffs, that proudly o'er-beetle the blue expanse of the ocean, bounded only by the horizon.
