Can you help identify our mystery pictures?

The Westcountry Studies Library has a wonderful collection of local pictures. Although we can identify the locations featured in most of these pictures, there are some we simply cannot place.

In August 2006 the library held an exhibition of these unidentified paintings and drawings. This drew a good response from visitors, and over a third of the exhibited illustrations have now been identified. These webpages are the digital version of those displays.

Below you will see both those views that we have now been able to catalogue, and the remaining images which are still unidentified. If you click on an individual image, you will then be able to see a larger copy of the picture and further details of artist and date.

The views in question all contain some striking image that you may recognise such as a church, a castle or a bridge.
