Local studies collections hold a wealth of historic illustrations, which are gradually being digitised for the internet. However at present only the minority of illustrations have images or even catalogue records available on the web and little indexing of detailed content has been completed. Searches are limited to records for separate images rather than illustrations within books, although some works have been indexed for special projects.

Illustrations pages. Many pages on the Devon Local Studies site include images but there are several which are basically a series of images of different types:
Etched on Devon's memory. Examples of the 3,500 engravings listed by J.V.Somers Cocks in his Devon topographical prints 1660-1870: a catalogue and guide, digitised under a grant from the New Opportunities Fund as the "Etched on Devon's Memory" project.
Dartmoor Archive. This digital image archive focuses on preserving Dartmoor's visual heritage. Along with much other material, the Dartmoor Archive website hosts the Westcountry Studies Library's Taylor and Falcon collections.
Portraits. A gallery of Devonians is also under development. This includes not only engraved portraits but also photographs and some drawings.
Photographs. A series of photographs of bomb damage in Devon during World War 2.
