The subject search will look for the subject which forms the main theme of works. Subjects can be simple terms or phrases. Key in the subject terms separated by a space. Truncation using * can help to find more terms of relevance. E.g. brew* will find brewers and breweries. For subjects which do not form the major theme of a work, but may appear in notes or within the title, use the keyword search.

A local subject tree. This began development as an experiment based on a thesaurus of local studies terms. Only sections highlighted are available and, even there, only those terms so far incorporated in the thesaurus of subjects were made accessible in the listings. In some cases only the first sections of larger subject areas are listed. It is hoped that thesaurus developments may be picked up with the newly adopted collection management system that runs this website.
