Devon's Landscape
Devon County Council’s role
Devon County Council is committed, through its Strategic Plan, to keeping Devon’s landscape special and help people enjoy it for generations to come. It does this by:
- Promoting and advising on Landscape policies and guidance through its Landscape Officer, who chairs the Devon Landscape Policy Group and provides specialist advice and support in connection with planning services (development management and spatial planning) and Devon County Council developments.
- Working with partner organisations to prepare and promote the use of Devon’s Landscape Character Assessment as an evidence base in local development plans
- Performing duties in connection with Devon’s protected landscapes.
